Youth Mentor and Facilitator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and engaging Youth Mentor and Facilitator to work with young people in the Soweto community. This role is centered on guiding and supporting youth through mentorship programs and engaging facilitation of activities designed to foster personal growth, leadership skills, and positive life choices. You will be instrumental in creating a safe and encouraging environment where young individuals can thrive and reach their potential. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to young people, offering guidance and support. Design and facilitate interactive workshops and activities focused on life skills, career readiness, and personal development. Build positive relationships with youth, acting as a role model and trusted confidant. Assess the needs of young people and connect them with appropriate resources and opportunities. Organize and lead community engagement events and outreach activities for youth. Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, program participation, and youth progress. Requirements A relevant qualification in Youth Development, Social Work, Education, or a related field. Previous experience in mentoring, youth work, or facilitation. Strong understanding of youth development principles and the challenges facing young people. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills. Ability to inspire, motivate, and build rapport with diverse groups of young people. A passion for empowering youth and a commitment to community service.
