Web Development Internship
Olive Tree Consulting is adding a Web Development Intern to our team to support a large scale engagement with a major financial services provider. This is a full-time, fully remote internship where you will help build the technical tools that make management clearer and easier to track. The role involves translating structural management habits into functional digital records that our clients use every day.

About the role
In this position, you will support our advisory practice by building and maintaining the digital tools we use to solve management friction. Often, our work requires creating internal portals or tracking systems where leadership teams can record decisions and ownership. You will be responsible for the front end and basic back end logic that keeps these systems running. Because the firm operates entirely remotely, you will work closely with our advisors through clear written updates and shared code repositories to ensure our technical solutions match our practical advice.

What you will do

Build and update clean, functional web pages using HTML and CSS based on project requirements.

Develop small JavaScript scripts to handle data input and basic calculations for management dashboards.

Help maintain internal documentation so that both our team and our clients understand how to use the tools we build.

Conduct testing across different browsers and devices to ensure a consistent experience for all users.

Work with the team to simplify existing code, focusing on stability and ease of maintenance.

Assist in the setup of lightweight databases or structured spreadsheets to store project information.

Participate in remote project syncs to provide updates on technical tasks and timelines.

Ensure that all digital interfaces are accessible, clear, and easy for non-technical users to navigate.

What we are looking for

A direct and plain writing style for both documentation and team coordination.

A logical approach to solving problems and a preference for simple solutions.

The ability to stay organized and productive while working in a fully remote environment.

High attention to detail, particularly regarding text layout, spacing, and functional consistency.

Curiosity about how teams work and how software can make professional life less confusing.

A calm demeanor when identifying and fixing technical bugs.

The ability to follow technical instructions accurately while suggesting improvements when you see them.

Helpful background

Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript gained through studies, bootcamps, or personal coding projects.

Familiarity with version control systems like Git to manage and share code changes.

Experience with simple web frameworks or static site generators is a plus but not required.

A basic understanding of how to structure data for use in web applications.

Completion of a degree or currently enrolled in a program related to Computer Science or Web Development.

Previous experience managing your own schedule for academic or freelance projects.

What we offer
We provide a work environment that focuses on the quality of work rather than the number of hours spent in a chair. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from a quiet space that suits your productivity. This is a paid internship, and we offer a salary that is competitive and attractive for this level of experience in the current market. You will have the chance to see how a professional advisory firm operates and contribute to projects for a major financial services provider. We value clarity, honest feedback, and the professional growth of everyone on our team.

About Olive Tree Consulting
Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems; they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company growth.
We favor practical changes over large scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own.
The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
