About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Viticulture and Winery Operations Manager to lead their esteemed wine estate operations near Kimberley . This comprehensive role demands expertise in both vineyard management and the intricacies of winemaking, ensuring the seamless integration of grape growing and production. You will be responsible for overseeing all vineyard activities to produce high-quality grapes, while also managing the winery's production, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards and efficient processing. This is a pivotal role for driving excellence across the entire wine production cycle, from grape to bottle, within the unique terroirs of the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of vineyard operations, including planting, pruning, canopy management, pest control, and harvesting. Oversee the grape reception, crushing, fermentation, aging, and bottling processes in the winery. Ensure strict quality control measures are implemented throughout viticulture and winemaking. Develop and manage operational budgets for both the vineyard and the winery. Lead and mentor teams of vineyard workers, cellar hands, and production staff. Maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements A degree in Viticulture, Oenology, Agricultural Science, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of combined experience in viticulture and winery production management. Demonstrated expertise in grape growing, wine fermentation, maturation, and bottling. Strong understanding of cellar operations, wine chemistry, and quality assurance protocols. Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
