<strong>Empowering Africa’s tomorrow, together…one story at a time.<br><br></strong>With over 100 years of rich history and strongly positioned as a local bank with regional and international expertise, a career with our family offers the opportunity to be part of this exciting growth journey, to reset our future and shape our destiny as a proudly African group.<br><br><strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>Oversight and management of the Funding and Liquidity Management (FLM) function across ARO, ensuring effective compliance with regulatory and Board requirements, funding strategy optimisation and funding cost management<br><br><strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Key Accountabilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Review and challenge the funding and liquidity risk positions and funding plans of ARO banking entities, providing a proactive view of potential funding risks and funding support required across ARO</li><li>Provide subject-matter- expertise to in-country Treasuries and Businesses on setting funding strategies and funding targets that should be considered and implemented to enhance Primacy and optimize funding costs</li><li>Optimise funding strategies and plans to support market share growth; returns and cost reductions, engaging with in-country and Group TES functions on wholesale funding market capacity and opportunities</li><li>Lead FLM engagements with in-country Treasuries advising on strategic planning requirements; determining the foreign currency funding support required by ARO entities and preparing updates to the Treasury Committee and the Board as part of the integrated planning process</li><li>Review, challenge and explain movements in funding and liquidity risk positions across ARO on a monthly basis and in support of BA610 reporting</li><li>Oversee the BA610 Liquidity risk reporting across the ARO entities; support related SARB discussions; and ensure alignment with Group FLM requirements</li><li>Develop and lead implementation of opportunities to optimize the funding structure of entities and sovereign investment strategies to enhance ARO’s contribution to Group RoRC</li><li>Lead the engagement with Group FLM and Treasury FSTI to advise foreign currency requirements from ABSA Bank SA and sovereign investment strategies</li><li>Lead the engagement with ARO Global Markets, ensuring funding limits and exposures are effectively implemented and monitored, in support of Business growth and compliance with Board-level liquidity requirements in ARO</li><li>Co-ordinate the execution of all FLM related requirements such as contingency planning; SARB requirements; local regulatory and ALCO requirements across ARO</li><li>Review, challenge and support Entity Treasuries with ILAAP submissions to regulators and support drafting and governance of Group ILAAP requirements related to ARO<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education And Experience Required<br><br></strong><ul><li>B-degree</li><li>> 5 years (Technical/Managerial) Finance; Balance Sheet; FLM and/ or Treasury Execution management experience<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge and skills: (Maximum of 6) <br><br></strong><ul><li>Highly numerate with a strong analytical background.</li><li>Deep expertise in Balance Sheet and Funding management</li><li>Strong experience with senior management reporting, influence and stakeholder management</li><li>Banking experience in a treasury environment, risk or finance<br><br></li></ul><strong>Competencies: (Maximum of 8 competencies)<br><br></strong><ul><li>Sound attention to detail and diligent in managing processes to a high standard</li><li>Keen interest in developing technical skills in risk management and the impact of in-country market dynamics on FLM</li><li>Good communicator and able to present technical content in a meaningful manner to management</li><li>Well organised and able to manage multiple responsibilities to deadlines</li><li>Able to interact efficiently and professionally with business stakeholders.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education<br><br></strong>Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)<br><br><em>Absa Bank Limited is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
