Trauma and Emergency Trained Registered Nurse – Gauteng

Join a leading private hospital in Gauteng, as a Trauma and Emergency Trained Registered Nurse. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional with trauma and emergency nursing experience, strong clinical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Requirements Education Diploma/Degree in Trauma and Emergency Nursing Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse. Diploma/Degree in General Nursing 2-3 Years Experience in Trauma and Emergency Department Experience Previous Trauma and Emergency Nursing Experience. 2-3 Years Experience in Trauma and Emergency Department Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department. Strong communication and teamwork skills. BLS certification advantageous. ACLS certification advantageous. Key Performance Areas Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to trauma and emergency patients in accordance with hospital policies and best practice standards. Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritise care based on the severity and urgency of patients’ conditions. Monitor, assess, and manage critically ill or injured patients, recognising and responding promptly to changes in their clinical condition. Initiate emergency interventions within scope of practice and collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, and life‑saving interventions in a fast‑paced emergency environment. Administer prescribed medications, intravenous therapy, blood products, and other treatments safely and accurately. Operate and monitor emergency and critical care equipment, ensuring all equipment is functional and readily available. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation in accordance with legal and professional standards. Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control measures, patient safety initiatives, and quality assurance protocols.
