Duties & Responsibilities
Key Areas of Responsibility in This Position include:
- To dyno test all engines going through the workshop to ensure performance and quality are in order before releasing to a customer.
- To provide an efficient and technically proficient fault diagnostic, service, and repair function.
- To provide an efficient and technically proficient engine rebuild function.
- To ensure that company technical and quality standards are adhered to at all times
- To ensure that administrative functions are completed timely and accurately.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications Required:
- Min Grade 12 or N3
- Qualified artisan – trade test pass (diesel fitter / mechanic/ automotive machinist)
- Valid driver's license
Specific Knowledge Required:
- Ability to demonstrate the skills and knowledge of his/her trade Experience leading to an in-depth understanding of company product technical and quality standards
- Ability to meet technical and quality standards
- Basic electrical and electronics knowledge
- knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Computer literacy (Microsoft package, Word, and Excel)
Specific Job Skills Required:
- Well-developed diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and judgement
- Well-developed decision-making skills.
- Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to liaise with customers and resolve problems
Experience:
- At least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience in the field of trade passed
