We are offering an exciting opportunity for the position of Supervisor. In this position you will play a crucial role to support our vision of becoming a great place to work for all.

Role Outline To ensure the procedures pertaining to all functions within the Receiving Department of the Distribution Centre is carried out, with utmost professionalism and to ensure smooth transition between principal and the company. To work in conjunction with Managers, monitor, develop and allocate work to group subordinates in specific. To control the inbound process within the distribution center, ensure the free flow of goods from receiving to the inbound system thereby minimizing any delay to the operation.

Responsible for maintaining inventory records accurately, integrity and continuously reviewing all inventory functions for operational efficiency.

Key Tasks/ Accountabilities

  • Allocate duties to teams of the shift in line with day-to-day requirements.
  • Arrange casual labour with the approval of Management.
  • Instruct Security Main Gate to release vehicles into Receiving Area.
  • Ensure vehicles are off-loaded and stock contents checked timeously as per booking schedule.
  • Escalate all MHE faults to site services & site leadership
  • Ensure that receiving area door and gates are secured and locked properly at the end of the work shift.
  • Correct non-performers through counselling and discipline if necessary.
  • Maintain leave roster. Authorize individual leave after taking due consideration of operational requirements, company policy and individual request.
  • Manage Smart time for subordinates.
  • Identify training requirements for staff and report to management.
  • Prepare and monitor KPI’s daily
  • Gemba walk done daily.
  • Ensure products are captured correctly
  • Ensure put away of stock accuracy.
  • Ensure high level of housekeeping. Ensure that line traceability process is followed.
  • Manage stock and raise any discrepancies identified
  • SOP Training and WCM One-point lessons
  • Minimize damage.
  • Goods lift checklist
  • Issue daily MHE checklists and ensure that the forms are correctly completed by the machine operators.
  • Monitor adherence to warehouse SHEQ standard.
  • Budget Management
  • HR Issues - Managing Industrial Relations

Functional Experience

  • 3 years of similar experience/ environment

Education / Qualification / Certification Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric – Essential
  • Educated to university degree level or equivalent professional qualifications

Skills/Competencies

  • Good analytical and numerical skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, transport management systems)
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Dedicated to service excellence
  • Apply logical thinking
  • Self-disciplined and organized
  • Ability to present to all management levels

Languages
