Our Hillside Aluminium smelter in Richards Bay produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a fixed term contract position. As a Supervisor Maintenance Alesa FTC, you will be responsible to lead a team of multi-skilled artisans and be responsible for the execution of Work Management and supervise work execution, inspections and observations in a safe and sustainable manner in the Maintenance department.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

You will be responsible for well-designed work to guarantee safe execution of all work; Ensuring effective execution of all planned & unplanned maintenance activities, to the defined quality standards; Manage work execution to deliver adherence to schedule on the day; To co-ordinate effective prioritization and execution of Plant shutdowns within planned duration; Delivery of maintenance KPI's for your section; Effective management of spares and repairable process; Manage the staffing and development of personnel & contractors within your team; Embed and sustain a continuous improvement culture in your team. ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

A minimum of 4 - 6 years hands-on maintenance experience is essential of which 1 year in a supervisory capacity in a technical field; Be prepared to work shifts if needed; Perform standby duties from time to time as required by the organization; Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces. Deep knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is essential Bulk solid material handling experience (belt conveyors, storage silos & transfer hoppers, feeders & controls) is essential

Qualifications for this role are:

National Diploma in a Technical field of study OR a T3/S4 in an Engineering field of study; Valid Trade Test.
