Job Description

We are urgently hiring for energetic and reliable Student Support Assistant for one of our clients - government sector, across UAE - Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Al Ain, Ajman, Khor Fakkan.

The Student Support Assistant (SSA) provides critical classroom, behavioural, and physical assistance to students of determination. You will ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that empowers students to achieve their academic and personal potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Modify learning materials under guidance to suit student needs.
  • Guide students through daily classroom activities and lessons.
  • Encourage independent learning and active classroom participation.
  • Accompany students during transitions between classes, breaks, and buses.
  • Support students with physical mobility, positioning, and adaptive equipment.
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene, and feeding if required.
  • Maintain a safe environment by proactively managing physical risks.
  • Implement approved behavior management plans and positive interventions.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviors with patience, calm, and care.
  • Foster social interactions and peer friendships during school hours.
  • Provide emotional reassurance to build student self-esteem.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate daily with class teachers, therapists, and special needs teams.
  • Log student progress, behavioral incidents, and daily achievements accurately.
  • Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum high school certificate or higher academic qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a related field.
  • Accepted backgrounds: Shadow teacher, teaching assistant, caregiver, nursery assistant, or special needs support.
  • Language: Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Fitness: Physically and medically fit to assist with student mobility and safety.
  • Traits: Exceptionally patient, caring, empathetic, and resilient.
