Staff Nurse Grade 1-3 (Ward Based Primary Health Care Outreach Team) Reference Number : refs/056128 Directorate : Nursing Services Number of Posts : 2 Package : Grade 1: R 229 440 - R 260 520, Grade 2: R 272 778 - R 310 890, Grade 3: R 319 071 - R 397 392 per annum (plus benefits). (NB: salary will be determined in line with OSD Resolution) Requirements : Basic qualification that allows registration with SANC as an Enrolled nurse. Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse. Knowledge and understanding of the Nursing Act, Patients’ rights, Batho Pele Principles. Good Communication Skills (Verbal and Written). Duties : Demonstrate basic understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Promote quality of basic nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the institution. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality nursing care and positive clinical outcomes. Manage, supervise and mentor a team of community health care workers assigned to the health facility and provide community-based services at ward level. Organise campaigns to address poor performing indicators of the facility and district. Ensure work allocation to the team and monitor performance. Liaise with ward councilors (with assistance of facility manager) and other community structures with regards to overall activities of community health workers in the community. Facilitate trainings and weekly in-service for community health workers. Attend meetings, training and give feedback to the team. Compile monthly reports and submit to facility manager and sub district coordinator. Manage resources allocated to the team.
