As our organization continues to expand, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper to help maintain financial accuracy, improve accounting processes, and support day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of the books, improving financial organization, and ensuring leadership has accurate, timely financial information to support business decisions. The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who can operate with minimal supervision and serve as a trusted member of the finance team. This is more than a transactional bookkeeping position. We need someone who understands the full accounting cycle, can identify issues before they become problems, and takes pride in maintaining clean, accurate financial records. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of the organization while helping establish scalable accounting processes for future growth. Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Bookkeeping * Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records * Record, categorize, and reconcile daily financial transactions * Manage general ledger activity and account maintenance * Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations * Review transactions for accuracy and proper classification * Ensure financial records remain organized and audit-ready Month-End Close & Financial Reporting * Lead month-end and year-end closing processes * Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports * Generate Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Reports * Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual transactions * Assist leadership with financial reporting and performance visibility Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable * Manage vendor payments and invoice processing * Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances * Track payment activity and assist with collections follow-up when necessary * Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial obligations Financial Operations Support * Maintain accounting systems and internal controls * Support budgeting and cash flow tracking initiatives * Assist with process improvements and accounting workflow optimization * Collaborate with external accountants, tax professionals, and leadership as needed * Prepare documentation required for tax filings and financial reviews Process Improvement * Identify inefficiencies and recommend operational improvements * Develop and document accounting procedures and best practices * Help create scalable financial systems to support company growth * Ensure consistent financial processes across the organization What Success Looks Like Within your first 90 days: * Financial records are accurate, current, and fully reconciled * Month-end close processes are completed consistently and on time * Leadership has clear visibility into company financial performance * Outstanding accounting issues and discrepancies are resolved * Financial reporting becomes more streamlined and reliable * Accounting workflows are documented and operating efficiently Qualifications Required * 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience supporting U.S.-based businesses * Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and U.S. accounting practices * Advanced QuickBooks Online experience * Experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping responsibilities * Strong account reconciliation experience * Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements * Excellent organizational and time-management skills * Strong written and verbal English communication skills * High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Preferred * Experience working remotely for U.S.-based companies * Experience in professional services, consulting, accounting, financial services, or advisory environments * Familiarity with Bill.com, Ramp, Gusto, Stripe, or similar financial systems * Experience supporting growing small-to-mid-sized businesses * Accounting degree or relevant bookkeeping certification Ideal Candidate You are proactive, dependable, and highly detail-oriented.
