Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Rosebank, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.</p> <p><strong>Job Description</p> <p></strong>As <strong>Specialist Intelligence & Investigations </strong>your responsibilities will include but not limited to:</p> <p>Safety, Health, and Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations practices, and compliance with all applicable SHE policies and procedures within Kumba standards.</li> <li>Support a culture that focuses on safety in all operations. </li> </ul> <p>Intelligence & Investigations:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the intelligence collection processes.</li> <li>Review risk and translate it into intelligence requirements.</li> <li>Define intelligence requirements and update continuously.</li> <li>Provide expert intelligence input to senior leadership through verbal and written briefings.</li> <li>Drive the use of best practices to improve intelligence practices continually.</li> <li>Consult with group security intelligence and other external partners.</li> <li>Conduct change management and communication program to onboard security function and other relevant Kumba functions (e.g., Corporate Affairs and P&O), with the support of the Principal Security and Intelligence.</li> <li>Manage analysis reports/dashboards for intelligence users (e.g., other AA functions, Group Security)</li> <li>Investigate Ethics Committee cases that are highly sensitive and could cause severe reputational damage to KIO.</li> <li>Manage and lead a team of investigators, including contracted/outsourced investigators at HO and all other Kumba sites.</li> <li>Support the Manager Security Services to prevent the growing threat of industrial espionage, illegal eavesdropping, and surveillance.</li> <li>Enable the company, its employees, and other stakeholders to conduct business free from illicit threats and unlawful interference.</li> <li>Monitor exploration, mining, processing, and in transit (on roads, airspace, and across borders).</li> <li>Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements by conducting market analysis, networking, and international and local benchmarking.</li> <li>Ensure all businesses comply with corporate governance and policies and statutory, legal, and other requirements. </li> </ul> <p>People and Teams:</p> <ul> <li>Network, promote teamwork, provide support, and advise and influence performance to give effect to the intelligence strategy. </li> </ul> <p>Compliance:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements by conducting market analysis, networking, and international and local benchmarking.</li> <li>Ensure all businesses comply with corporate governance and policies and statutory, legal, and other requirements.</li> <li>Develop periodic reports on ongoing investigations and other investigation statistics for critical stakeholders. </li> </ul> <p><strong>This role is in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) department on a Band 6 (D-Upper) level reporting to the Principal Security & Intelligence.</p> <p></strong><strong>Qualifications</p> <p></strong></p> <ul> <li>Grade 12 /N3 Technical</li> <li>Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Forensic investigations (NQF7)</li> <li>Registered with Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority Grade</li> <li>Registration with PSIRA A Grade</li> <li>Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Certificate is preferred</li> <li>No Criminal Record</li> <li>Pass the Polygraph Test</li> <li>Firearms training and Competence (to be provided)</li> <li>SA Drivers Licence: Code B (Light Vehicle) </li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Knowledge</p> <p></strong></p> <ul> <li>6-8 years of relevant experience in intelligence and investigations, preferably in the mining industry.</li> <li>Understanding of project management fundamentals.</li> <li>Proficiency in data analysis.</li> <li>Familiarity with new technologies and their impact on intelligence activities.</li> <li>Knowledge of intelligence tools and techniques.</li> <li>Understanding of business acumen, commercial drivers affecting site performance, and the impact of disruption on operations.</li> <li>Basic understanding of financial metrics, cost and value management, and budgeting tools.</li> <li>Familiarity with risk management techniques and critical controls.</li> <li>Understanding safety, health, environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory, and permitting requirements. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Information</p> <p></strong><strong>Who we are?</p> <p></strong>Anglo American is a global diversified mining business.
