Snr Specialist: SAP Support

Position Purpose

Provide underlying technical, functional and data support to the SAP Asset Accounting (AA), Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) processes in TRIM that require the usage of complex ERP information systems by Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager employees. This supports better systems and process controls, accurate reporting, more efficient methods of transacting, and upskilling employees.

Position Outputs

  • Provide training and testing for end users on SAP AA/FI/CO modules, ensuring strong user transaction knowledge and remedial fixes as needed.
  • Support process understanding and enhancements for relevant SAP processes.
  • Provide telephonic, Teams, and e‑mail support for issues on SAP AA/FI/CO modules or transaction failures, and perform period‑end technical jobs for TRIM.
  • Ensure SAP roles (transactional) are granted and controlled via appropriate risk management tools (currently GRC).
  • Escalate system errors to SAP CoE, provide testing on fixes, and offer data services for projects and system changes.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B Com) or equivalent IT degree with majors in accounting/IT.
  • At least 5 years of SAP support or SAP implementation/IT business analyst experience dealing with system and data analytics.
  • Trust and honesty in handling finances per the National Credit Act Amendment 19.
  • Successful completion of a lifestyle audit (ROC).
  • 4–8 years of supervisory or managerial experience, or equivalent technical guidance expertise, with at least 3 years in supervisory or managerial roles.
