Site Supervisor - Civil Works

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the civil works aspects of major construction projects in Pretoria . This hands-on role is critical for ensuring that all construction activities on site are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. You will be the direct point of contact for on-site personnel and subcontractors, responsible for managing daily operations, quality control, and adherence to strict safety protocols. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for an individual with a strong practical background in civil construction, looking to lead and contribute to the successful execution of impactful infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, ensuring work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Direct and manage the work of tradespeople, laborers, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules and work plans. Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure work complies with blueprints and specifications. Maintain accurate daily site reports, including progress, labor, materials, and any incidents. Liaise with project managers and engineers to resolve on-site challenges and ensure timely completion of civil works tasks. Requirements National Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant trade qualification. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role on civil construction projects. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and willingness to work on-site in and around Pretoria .
