Senior Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst to join their dynamic team in Pietermaritzburg . This pivotal role involves ensuring the consistent quality and safety of pharmaceutical products through rigorous testing and analysis. You will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance with stringent regulatory standards and internal quality management systems. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products using various laboratory techniques and instrumentation. Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods in accordance with pharmacopoeial standards and regulatory guidelines. Review and interpret test data, generate certificates of analysis, and document all laboratory activities accurately and comprehensively. Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, deviations, and customer complaints, determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure calibration, and troubleshoot instrument malfunctions to guarantee optimal performance and reliable results. Mentor junior analysts, provide technical guidance, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and best practices in quality control. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related scientific field. A Master's degree is advantageous. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical quality control or a related laboratory setting. Proven experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and wet chemistry methods. Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory requirements (e.g., SAHPRA). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment in Pietermaritzburg .
