Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer

In order to be considered the following is required: Relevant IT qualification or equivalent practical experience Networking Certification (CCNA, MTCRE, JNCIA or equivalent) Advantageous: AWS certification| Linux Certification | Firewall Vendor Certification | ITIL Foundation 5 or more years administering enterprise IT infrastructure Strong networking experience including routing, switching and firewalls Live Broadcast and media network experience essential Experience with and understanding of media network protocols Experience administering Linux servers Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or similar virtualisation platforms Exposure to AWS or another major cloud platform Experience supporting high-availability production environments Scripting experience using Python, Bash or PowerShell Experience working with monitoring and observability platforms Key Competencies: Strong troubleshooting ability Practical hands-on technical skills Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced operational environment Strong communication and documentation skills A proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues Commitment to service availability and customer satisfaction Willingness to learn new technologies and broaden technical skills Responsibilities: Network Operations: Operate and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN and internet connectivity Configure and support routing, switching, wireless and firewall infrastructure Monitor network performance and resolve faults Maintain accurate network documentation Infrastructure Operations: Support servers, storage, virtualisation platforms and datacenter infrastructure Maintain Linux and Windows server environments Manage backups and assist with disaster recovery testing Perform hardware installations and equipment lifecycle management Cloud and Hosted Services: Administer AWS infrastructure and cloud networking and routing Support cloud-hosted applications and media services Monitor cloud costs and utilisation Assist with deployment of new cloud services Streaming and Media Platforms: Support streaming platforms and media servers Assist with CDN configuration and content delivery Setup video encoders, IPTV routers and distribution services Monitor media quality and resolve service issues affecting customers Support contribution and distribution workflows Monitoring and Incident Management: Monitor systems using approved monitoring platforms Respond to incidents and perform root cause investigations Maintain operational documentation and runbooks Participate in an on-call shift roster Automation and Continuous Improvement: Develop scripts to automate routine operational tasks Improve monitoring, reporting and operational efficiency Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and simplify operations Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Work with Clients, service providers, datacentres and vendors Coordinate maintenance activities Escalate issues where appropriate Provide clear technical updates during incidents This is a hands-on technical role focused on maintaining reliable services across networking, servers, cloud platforms and media delivery systems, as you will take ownership of operational stability, troubleshoot complex issues, implement improvements and work closely with internal teams and technology partners to ensure business-critical systems remain available.
