What You’ll Do
  • Execute access control as per the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985).
  • Conduct positive identification checks for employees, visitors, and contractors at security access points.
  • Maintain a visitor’s register and issue admission control cards to visitors.
  • Patrol buildings and fenced-off areas to ensure security.
  • Monitor supplier articles and objects to prevent threats to safety.
  • Report any deficiencies or security issues to senior personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency procedures and prescribed security measures.
What You’ll Need
  • Proven competency in the core functions of the post.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language.
  • Citizenship of South Africa with documentary proof.
  • A Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV level 2 certificate (NQF level 2).
  • Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and a Grade C security certificate or higher.
  • No declaration of unfitness to possess a firearm; willingness to undergo firearm competency training.
  • Relevant courses in security will be advantageous.
  • A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is a plus.
  • Availability to work shifts and extended hours.
