About the Role

The South African Police Service is looking for a dedicated Secretary to support the Section Head at the Border Policing office located at OR Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth administrative operations, which directly impacts the effectiveness of public service in safeguarding our communities. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing communications, organizing schedules, and facilitating the workflow for the Section Head, ultimately contributing to the safety and security of all citizens.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide secretarial support to the Section Head, ensuring efficient administrative functions.
  • Type, compile, and administer reports, certificates, and letters.
  • Manage the flow of documents and communications to and from the Section Head’s office.
  • Organize and coordinate appointments, meetings, and events, including logistics and room bookings.
  • Handle travel arrangements and subsistence allowances for the Section Head.
  • Monitor and manage various administrative duties to support the Section Head’s operations.
What You’ll Need
  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
  • General computer literacy skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  • Interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
