Location: East Rand, Gauteng Salary: R900,000 – R1,200,000 CTC per annum + Commission

About the Role

Our client is a leading international provider of chemical dosing and water treatment solutions, supplying specialised equipment and systems to industrial and engineering markets across Sub-Saharan Africa.

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager – SSA to take responsibility for regional sales growth, key accounts, distributors and the development of a high-performing technical sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for the SSA sales budget, revenue and growth targets.

  • Lead, mentor and manage technical sales professionals across the region.

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Identify new markets, customers and business opportunities within industrial and engineering sectors.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with major customers, distributors and representatives.

  • Drive sales of chemical dosing systems, dosing pumps, water treatment and fluid management equipment.

  • Conduct customer visits, site surveys and technical consultations across SSA.

  • Identify opportunities within water treatment, mining, chemical processing, manufacturing and industrial markets.

  • Manage sales pipelines, forecasts, CRM activities and KPI reporting.

  • Support internal sales, engineering, project and after-sales teams.

  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and customer training sessions.

  • Monitor market developments, competitors and emerging opportunities.

  • Travel extensively throughout Sub-Saharan Africa as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering qualification such as BTech, HND, HNC or relevant Degree.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales leadership, sales management or business development within an engineering/technical environment.

  • Proven experience managing sales targets and KPIs.

  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical, chemical or electronic engineering products.

  • Experience in chemical dosing, dosing pumps, water treatment, fluid handling or process equipment will be highly advantageous.

  • Experience selling into mining, water treatment, chemical, manufacturing or industrial markets.

  • Existing customer/distributor network across Sub-Saharan Africa advantageous.

  • Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-management skills.

  • CRM experience; SAP experience advantageous.

  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively across SSA.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on technical sales leader who can combine strategic sales management with strong customer engagement. The ideal candidate will understand chemical dosing and water treatment applications, have experience selling technical equipment into industrial markets and have the commercial ability to grow the business across Sub-Saharan Africa.

This is an opportunity for an established technical sales professional ready to take ownership of a regional business and grow into a senior leadership role.

Salary: R900,000 – R1,200,000 CTC + Commission
