Restaurant GM - Harbeespoort

Introduction

A large restaurant in the heart of Hartbeespoort located next to a busy retail market is seeking a self-managed and experienced General Manager to manage a multi-faceted 280 seater restaurant offering a full service dine in experience, functions, events and catering.

The successful candidate will have to have solid experience as well as sound knowledge of restaurant operations including finance, people, product, and customer.

If not located in Hartbeespoort candidate must be willing to relocate. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage all aspects of restaurant operations — product, people, and place — to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage front-of-house team operations, including waiter training, shift scheduling, duty allocation, and day-today performance oversight
  • Oversee kitchen supervision and all stock processes—ordering, receiving, staff management, stocktakes, and rotation.
  • Oversee cash management, GP control, food cost calculations, and monthly reporting to owners.
  • Managemanagement of cleanliness and health and safety protocols
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure smooth operations, effective staff management, and cost control.

Desired Experience & Qualification

 

  • South African Citizen only
  • Weekend work essential
  • Must have drivers licence and vehicle - essentail
  • Must live in Hartbeespoort or be willing to relocate
  • Customer focused with vibrant personality
  • Min 3 years experience in a restaurant leadership role preferably with large venue experience
  • Oversee kitchen supervision and all stock processes—ordering, receiving, staff management, stocktakes, and rotation.
  • Oversee cash management, GP control, food cost calculations, and monthly reporting to owners.
  • Managemanagement of cleanliness and health and safety protocols
