About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and strategic Renewable Energy Policy Advisor to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is crucial for shaping the future of sustainable energy development by analyzing, advising on, and advocating for effective energy policies at national and regional levels. You will research policy impacts, engage with stakeholders, and provide expert recommendations to support the growth of renewable energy initiatives across South Africa. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth research and analysis of existing and proposed energy policies and regulations. Develop policy recommendations and position papers to advocate for renewable energy development. Engage with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders to promote policy adoption. Monitor policy developments and their potential impact on the company's strategic objectives. Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Requirements Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Public Policy, Law, Environmental Science, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in energy policy analysis, development, or advocacy, with a focus on renewables. Strong understanding of South African energy policy landscape and regulatory frameworks. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, particularly for remote collaboration.
