About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly imaginative and experienced Remote Lead Game Writer to shape the compelling narratives and world-building for their upcoming game titles. In this pivotal role, you will lead the narrative design team, defining the overarching story, character arcs, dialogue, and lore that immerse players in unforgettable gaming experiences. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and other writers to ensure narrative coherence and emotional impact throughout the game development cycle. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of game narratives, including plotlines, character backstories, dialogue, and world-building documentation. Write high-quality dialogue, quest descriptions, in-game text, and lore entries that align with the game's overall vision. Collaborate with other writers to ensure consistency in tone, style, and thematic elements across the narrative. Work with level designers and narrative designers to integrate story elements and player choices seamlessly into gameplay. Review and provide feedback on the work of other writers and narrative team members, ensuring high standards of quality and coherence. Requirements Proven experience as a Lead Writer or Senior Writer in the video game industry, with a portfolio of narrative design work. Exceptional writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft engaging stories, memorable characters, and compelling dialogue for interactive media. Strong understanding of narrative structure, pacing, and player agency in game design. Experience working with game engines and narrative tools (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity, Twine, or proprietary tools).
