Remote Administrative Assistant – Part-Time

Location: Remote – South Africa

Hours: Approximately 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday

Remuneration: R7,000–R8,000 per month, depending on experience and demonstrated ability

We are looking for a reliable, diligent and detail-oriented part-time Remote Administrative Assistant to support a busy member of our management team.

The work will primarily involve preparing and formatting professional documents, creating Canva presentations, improving written communication and assisting with varied day-to-day administrative tasks.

The successful candidate must have excellent English, strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately. They must also be comfortable moving between different tasks when priorities change.

This is a practical administrative support role. It does not involve staff management, diary management or responsibility for coordinating business projects.

Key Responsibilities

Create and update presentations, proposals and branded documents using Canva.

Have a good understanding of how to use AI - Use ChatGPT and other AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and document quality.

Type, prepare and professionally format Word documents.

Turn voice notes, rough notes, emails and existing information into clear, well-structured documents.

Proofread and correct spelling, grammar, wording, formatting and presentation.

Conduct straightforward online research and present the information clearly.

Make requested changes and revisions promptly and accurately.

Assist with different administrative tasks as business needs change.

Minimum Requirements

Excellent written and spoken English.

Good working knowledge of Canva.

Strong Microsoft Word skills.

Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

Excellent computer literacy.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to work accurately under pressure.

Ability to understand instructions and apply requested changes correctly.

Ability to move between different tasks without losing accuracy or becoming overwhelmed.

Reliable internet access and a suitable computer.

A professional and dependable approach to remote work.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Hours and Availability

This is a remote, part-time position requiring approximately four hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Please note that instructions and tasks may be emailed or sent between 02:00 and 06:00, so this could suit someone who works early hours. A fixed time arrangement at any time of day can be discussed.

There is flexibility in the exact starting and finishing times, provided that the agreed hours are maintained and work is completed promptly.

One-Week Paid Trial The appointment will begin with a one-week paid working trial.

During the trial, the successful applicant will complete a selection of genuine administrative, document-formatting and Canva tasks. This will allow us to assess:

Quality and accuracy.

Written English and proofreading ability.

Canva and document-formatting skills.

Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Speed and reliability.

Ability to manage changing tasks and requested revisions.

Communication and responsiveness.

Continuation after the trial will depend on satisfactory performance and whether the arrangement is suitable for both parties.
