Spend time with your family and loved ones.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The Construction Estimator is responsible for ensuring construction projects meet required quality standards while also preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and light commercial projects across Australia. This remote role supports both project quality assurance and pre-construction tendering processes by reviewing drawings, specifications, materials, workmanship, and cost requirements in line with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.</li><li>Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages.</li><li>Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender submissions, and estimating reports.</li><li>Obtain, review, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.</li><li>Identify defects, non-conformities, scope gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in construction and tender documentation.</li><li>Recommend corrective actions and apply value engineering principles to improve cost efficiency without compromising compliance or quality.</li><li>Coordinate with engineers, contractors, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve quality and costing issues.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety regulations, local building codes, industry standards, and quality management systems.</li><li>Participate in quality audits, risk assessments, and testing/commissioning verification.</li><li>Support project handovers and assist with variation pricing and post-contract cost adjustments when required.</li><li>Experience in benchmarking costs and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate project estimates. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structure Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, quality assurance, quality control, or site inspection.</li><li>Proven experience within the Australian construction industry is highly preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and medium density in high rise in Australia.</li><li>Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements, construction quality procedures, and estimating practices.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and contracts.</li><li>Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul><li></li><p><strong>Technical Skills / Tools</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost modelling and reporting.</li><li>Experience using <strong>Auto Cad</strong>, <strong>Excel and MS Project</strong> for quantity take-offs, cost estimating, tender preparation, and project costing. </li><li>Knowledge of construction materials testing, surveying equipment, and inspection tools.</li><li>Experience maintaining Australian construction cost databases and rate libraries. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Attributes</strong></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of the Australian construction environment.</li><li>Highly organised with strong time management and multitasking skills.</li><li>Commercially focused with a practical and proactive approach.</li><li>Able to work independently and manage deadlines effectively in a remote environment.</li><li>Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills.</li><li>Proactive in identifying risks, improving estimating accuracy, and maintaining quality standards.</li></ul><li></li><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><ul><li>Fully remote role supporting Australian residential and light commercial construction projects.</li><li>Combination of office-based documentation, reporting, estimating, and coordination work.</li><li>May require virtual collaboration across multiple project teams and stakeholders.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Please read: If you believe you're a great fit for this role, we’d love to learn more about you!
