Property Engineer (Registered Engineer START ASAP)
About the role
The Property Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of building systems and facilities to ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the property. The role manages engineering operations, preventive maintenance programs, contractor activities, and compliance with applicable building, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, elevators, and other mechanical equipment.
Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs or replacements as needed.
Ensure continuous operation of critical building systems with minimal downtime.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities and common areas.
Maintain asset registers and engineering records.
Monitor the condition of building infrastructure and recommend capital improvement projects.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting maintenance and repair costs.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Implement workplace safety policies and procedures.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer license preferred or required depending on company and local regulations.
Minimum 1 year of experience in facilities management, property management, or building engineering operations.
Experience managing commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use properties is preferred.
