Process Engineer Automotive Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities - Develop, review, and implement Control Plans and PFMEA/FMEA documentation.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Develop and update Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Inspection Standards, Forms, Guidelines, and Process Flow Charts.
- Ensure documentation complies with OEM requirements, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and other applicable standards.
- Maintain effective shop floor document and record control.
- Conduct process and product-related training for production personnel.
- Record, analyse, and validate manufacturing data using statistical and analytical tools.
- Support internal and external process audits.
- Develop and implement inspection standards and process documentation.
- Ensure products and supplier components are approved prior to production.
- Conduct product audits, layout inspections, production trials, capability studies, capacity studies, and product validations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Monitor process performance against defined process parameters and implement corrective actions where required.
- Verify new parts and engineering changes before implementation.
- Ensure compliance with OEM customer-specific requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Minimum
Requirements - National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experience as a Process Engineer within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing Control Plans and PFMEA/FMEA (IQRM software advantageous).
- Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Good understanding of OEM customer-specific requirements.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
