Role Description The Plant Production Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator is a contract, on-site role located in Middelburg. This role involves facilitating plant production training sessions, guiding learners through theory and practical components, and ensuring that training outcomes align with accredited curriculum requirements.
The individual will conduct assessments of learner competence, maintain accurate records, and provide constructive feedback to support learner progress. In addition, the role includes moderating assessments to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with relevant standards and regulatory bodies. The facilitator will collaborate with other trainers and administrative staff to schedule sessions, prepare learning materials, and contribute to continuous improvement of training programs.
Qualifications
- Experience in plant production or agricultural operations, with practical knowledge of crop production processes, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Proven background in training or education, including facilitating group learning, delivering lessons, and supporting diverse adult learners.
- Competence in assessment practices, including developing assessment tasks, evaluating learner performance, and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Experience in moderation of assessments, ensuring alignment with accreditation requirements, and maintaining consistency and fairness across assessments.
- Accredited assessor and moderator certifications relevant to plant production or agricultural training, plus familiarity with national qualifications frameworks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with learners, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Good organizational and administrative skills, including record keeping, reporting, and managing multiple training groups or sessions.
- Relevant qualification in agriculture, plant production, education, or a related field; previous experience in a training academy or accredited training environment is an advantage.
