Business Description The Study Room is an online tutoring business and academic resource hub. Through our tutoring services, we aim to create a safe and supportive space where students can openly share their challenges, receive meaningful mentorship, develop their confidence and improve their academic ability. Additionally, through our resource platform, we aim to equip students with premium study materials that have been designed to simplify complex concepts and improve academic performance.

Role Description

We are hiring online tutors for a variety of modules across the Commerce, Engineering, Health Sciences and Law faculties at the University of Pretoria and the University of the Witwatersrand. As an online tutor, you will be expected to:
  1. Conduct tutor classes;
  2. Conduct tutor consultations;
  3. Conduct test workshops; and/or
  4. Conduct examination workshops

  • For Commerce, Health Sciences and Law modules, a 75%+ average in the module that you wish to tutor
  • For Engineering modules, a 70% average in the module that you wish to tutor
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Reliable - able to keep appointments and manage time
  • Tutoring experience is beneficial
  • Competent with Microsoft Teams
  • Uninterrupted access to a laptop, computer or tablet
