A leading manufacturing company in the insulation and building products industry is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join its Pretoria-based operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability and safe operation of production machinery and equipment through effective maintenance, fault-finding and preventative maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
  • Install, commission and maintain new and existing machinery.
  • Conduct fault-finding on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and engineering drawings.
  • Perform planned maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
  • Assist with machinery upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns and repairs.
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve equipment-related issues and improve plant reliability.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained to the required standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Qualified Millwright – Red Seal Trade Certificate.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Millwright in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery will be advantageous.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical diagrams.
  • Valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work shifts, overtime and standby when required.
