The Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer Role

As a Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer, you will create computationally intensive mechanical engineering problems and provide verified solutions implemented in Python. Assignments may involve multi-step calculations, numerical methods, iteration, and simulations.

The work may cover thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, solid mechanics, dynamics and vibrations, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and modeling or analysis workflows involving CAE, FEA, and CFD concepts.

What You’ll Work On

Projects may span a range of engineering and applied science topics. Depending on the assignment, you may develop computational problems, write simulation or analysis scripts, check numerical results, and assess whether a model's reasoning and final answer are technically sound.

Required Qualifications

You must meet one of the following education and experience pathways: a relevant bachelor's degree plus at least one year of relevant work experience, or a relevant master's degree or PhD. Relevant fields include mechanical, aerospace, materials, mechatronics or robotics, industrial, manufacturing, and energy systems engineering, as well as engineering physics, applied physics, applied mathematics, and computational mechanics.

Python proficiency is required, including demonstrable experience with engineering or scientific computing. Advanced English at the C1 level is also required and may be demonstrated through a test score, an English-taught degree, or advanced English use in professional or academic work.

  • Relevant BSc plus 1+ year of relevant engineering or research experience, or an MSc or PhD in a relevant field
  • Python experience for engineering or scientific computing
  • Experience with tools or libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, or pandas, or with numerical methods and simulation or optimization scripts
  • Advanced English proficiency at the C1 level
  • If applying through the BSc pathway, relevant experience may include design, analysis, R&D, manufacturing, simulations, or academic research

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are helpful but not required. They may strengthen your fit for assignments involving advanced engineering analysis, modeling, or simulation.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in thermodynamics, fluids, heat transfer, solid mechanics, dynamics and vibrations, mechanical design, manufacturing, CAD or CAE, FEA, CFD, or thermal systems
  • Experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, OpenFOAM, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar engineering modeling software
  • PE, Chartered Engineer, relevant national licensure, related certifications, or clear progress toward licensure
