<p><strong>“We encourage people with disabilities to apply.”</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Summary: </u></strong></p><p>The Meat & Fresh Produce Team Lead is responsible for driving fresh quality, food safety, customer experience, and associate performance across the Meat and Produce departments. This role leads daily operations, merchandising, shrink control, scheduling, and inventory management, ensuring the department meets both financial and service expectations.</p><p><strong><u>FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Business Performance</u></strong></p><ul><li>Monitor Departments’ KPIs including shrink, waste, sales, profit and labor costs.</li><li>Use reporting tools to make data-driven decisions and implement corrective actions. </li><li>Support promotional execution and seasonal planning strategies. </li></ul><p><strong>Food Safety & Quality Assurance</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain expert knowledge of meat cuts, fresh produce handling, and storage requirements. </li><li>Conduct regular freshness checks and ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., temperature logs, rotation, hygiene procedures). </li><li>Remove unsellable products and trains the team on food safety protocols. </li><li>Coach associates on handling techniques and proactively resolve quality concerns. </li></ul><p><strong>Coaching & Associate Development</strong></p><ul><li>Onboard and train associates on fresh processes, food safety, compliance standards, customer service, and SOPs. </li><li>Deliver real-time coaching and feedback to improve performance. </li><li>Support skills growth and development plans through cross-training between store departments and leveraging Walmart Academy. </li><li>Conduct career and development discussion to foster a high performance and engagement culture. </li></ul><p><strong>Operational Excellence</strong></p><ul><li>Manage daily operations including inventory accuracy, waste tracking, and order adjustments. </li><li>Maintain a well-organized backroom and sales floor aligned with planograms. </li><li>Execute display plans in alignment with promotional and seasonal objectives. </li><li>Ensure pricing accuracy, cleanliness, and full, attractive displays. </li><li>Maintain visual standards and planogram compliance. </li><li>React immediately to Meat & Produce and Food deliveries for a quick unload. . </li></ul><p><strong>Shrink Control & Waste Reduction</strong></p><ul><li>Identify shrink causes and implements strategies to reduce loss. </li><li>Manage markdowns, damages, and waste logs. </li></ul><p><strong>Customer Experience & Service Excellence</strong></p><ul><li>Drive a high-standard customer experience in Meat & Fresh Produce department through quality presentation. </li><li>Handle customer requests, complaints, and feedback professionally. </li><li>Coach team on upselling, product knowledge, and service etiquette. </li></ul><p><strong>Customer Experience & Readiness</strong></p><ul><li>Lead daily huddles and communicate performance expectations, goals, and business updates. </li><li>Address issues with fairness and consistency. </li><li>Foster a collaborative team culture that works cross-functionally (multi-tasking) within store departments. </li><li>Drive engagement and belonging through associate recognition, performance feedback and management. </li></ul><p><strong>Stock Receiving & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Manage receiving processes for meat, fresh produce and perishable goods.</li><li>Verifies documentation, temperature control, and quality of deliveries (i.e. sell by date).</li><li>Communicate with Planners and vendors to resolve issues and ensure accuracy.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Meat Preparation & Fresh Produce Handling</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee daily merchandising meat cuts into meat cabinets and fresh produce for packaging, quality and freshness.</li><li>Ensure compliance with temperature, handling and hygiene standards<strong>.</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Payroll Input Accuracy & Workforce Scheduling</strong></p><ul><li>Enter scheduling data accurately and manages shift swaps.</li><li>Verify payroll input from People Lead for accuracy and addresses discrepancies timeously.</li><li>Manage labor costs by aligning schedules with business needs as per workforce scheduling guidelines.</li><li>Resolve attendance discrepancies and escalate adherence concerns to the People Lead/Coach as needed and monitors productivity<strong>.</strong></li></ul><p><strong>E-Commerce Support</strong></p><ul><li>Partner with Online Grocery Pickup (OGP) to ensure item availability and substitution quality.</li><li>Maintain freshness and readiness for online order fulfillment.</li><li>Train pickers/fulfilment associates on pick order quality control and customer satisfaction.</li></ul><p><strong>Leadership Expectations</strong></p><p><strong>Respect for the Individual</strong></p><ul><li>Embraces differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences;
