Master Data Administrator

Astral Operations is a key player in the agriculture industry, and is seeking a structured, process-driven and results-oriented Master Data Administrator to support and optimise divisional master data, systems and processes.

Reporting to the MIS Business Intelligence Manager and working closely with operational, production, finance and support teams, the successful candidate will take full ownership of centralised master data, drive standardisation and data quality, ensure strong governance and controls, and partner with business and MIS stakeholders to enable accurate, reliable reporting and decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data-focused professional with strong systems and Excel experience to play a key role in an operationally intensive environment, where data integrity, governance and master data optimisation are central to performance and control.

THE OPPORTUNITY As a member of the Poultry MIS team, you will work closely with operational, production, finance, and support teams to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and governance of critical master data across the business.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to business efficiency, support key systems and processes, and drive continuous improvement through high-quality data management.

You will act as a key link between business and MIS for master data requirements, helping translate business needs into data structures, standards and processes that enhance accuracy, efficiency and governance.

Qualifications SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
  • Experience in a Master Data, Data Quality, Data Governance, or similar data administration role.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and large data sets.
  • Experience within the Poultry Industry or FMCG environment will be advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of master data management, data quality, and governance principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • High attention to detail with a structured, process-driven approach.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Master Data Management
  • Maintenance and governance of all centralised master data records.
  • Standardisation of master data structures and naming conventions.
  • Ongoing data cleansing and integrity management.
Data Quality & Compliance
  • Data quality monitoring and validation.
  • Perform monthly and periodic master data reviews, audits and reconciliations for completeness, consistency and compliance.
  • Monitor data quality, investigate exceptions and drive corrective actions using data management tools.
Data Governance & Controls
  • Enforcement of master data controls and approval workflows.
  • Alignment and standardisation of MIS Master Data Standard Operating Procedures and processes.
Business Process & Stakeholder Support
  • Coordination of data requirements across divisions.
  • Facilitation of standardising business processes within master data practices.
  • Act as a liaison between business and MIS teams on master data topics, helping align data, processes and priorities.
Systems, Operational and Service Support
  • Support system implementations, projects and upgrades from a master data perspective.
  • Provide business support through the Service Desk for master data-related queries.
  • Resolve master data-related issues and user queries, ensuring timely and effective support to stakeholders
