Marketing Executive - Durban

Introduction

Our client in Durban is looking for a commercially minded, creative Marketing Exec to lead brand strategy across the group.

The Marketing Exec will drive campaign planning and performance, own the marketing budget, and ensure every touchpoint reflects the brand identity. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can turn bold ideas into measurable results.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead an efficient Marketing Department, setting clear direction and communicating strategy to the team
  • Own advertising, CSI, and campaign planning — including monthly communication of events across the business
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers for handbill costing and newspaper advertising
  • Drive social media and website marketing: content, scheduling and online reputation
  • Champion customer service quality through store visits and Brand Bible compliance
  • Measure and report on campaign performance, turning data into insight for the wider business
  • Manage the marketing budget, allocating resources against goals and priorities
  • Support, mentor, and motivate a team of specialists across brand, design, and marketing coordination

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • BCom Marketing (or equivalent qualification)
  • 10+ years in a marketing management role
  • Solid grasp of both traditional and emerging marketing channels, with hands-on web analytics experience
  • Proven budget management skills and commercial judgement
  • Strong analytical ability — comfortable forecasting trends and troubleshooting underperforming campaigns
  • Excellent communication and pitching skills, with the confidence to present to senior leadership 
  • A creative mind paired with a head for business, and the leadership skills to build a high-performing team
