Are you an experienced IT infrastructure professional who thrives on solving complex technical challenges? Our client, a well-established Managed Services Provider (MSP), is looking for a Senior Level 3 IT Engineer to join their technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled engineer who enjoys working across diverse client environments, leading technical initiatives, and delivering enterprise-level infrastructure and cloud solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide advanced (Tier 3) technical support across complex client environments.
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring and critical incidents to implement permanent solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Manage and support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Administer networking technologies including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Support Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management solutions.
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security-related issues.
  • Lead technical projects including cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, Microsoft 365 deployments, and server migrations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical escalation support where required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a Tier 3 IT Support or Senior Infrastructure Engineer role within a Managed Services Provider (MSP).
  • Strong experience supporting multiple client environments.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID administration skills.
  • Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization.
  • Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience implementing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Advantageous Experience:

  • Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management.
  • Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Security solutions.
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Microsoft Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.
  • Kubernetes, Docker, or container technologies.
  • Experience with RMM and PSA platforms such as NinjaOne, HaloPSA, ConnectWise, Datto RMM, N-able, or Kaseya.
  • Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or cybersecurity certifications.
