Junior Cybersecurity Presales Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Junior Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineer role entails, amongst others, aligning with specified technologies, designing and building accurate technology configurations and solutions by studying and understanding partner technologies.

Junior Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Reporting to the Services Manager.
  • Follow the lead from the Product Manager and complete all assigned tasks on time.
  • Configure technology solutions.
  • Assist internal and external clients with technical questions regarding allocated product/s and/or technologies.
  • Work closely with Brand and Vendor technical teams to understand new technical developments in the IT industry.
  • Keep required certifications active and renew certifications as and when required by management.
  • Identify Client requirements by researching and analysing their needs.
  • Keep current with cybersecurity technologies.
  • Articulate networking solutions to the Account Managers.
  • Assist the Clients with product trends and consult with them to assist in rolling out new products and features for business growth and tenant requirements.
  • Assist the Brand with technical tasks that they require.

 

Product Knowledge

  • Conduct Technical Presentations to colleagues and resellers on products prescribed by management from time to time.
  • Configure and Install Cybersecurity products as required by the sales team.
  • Proactively facilitate and conduct product enablement sessions for all relevant internal and reseller salespeople

 

Communication & Etiquette

  • Attention to detail in all written, email, and verbal communication.
  • Presentation skills, ability to develop, articulate, and present relevant content professionally.
  • Maintain respectful working relationships with all colleagues, customer representatives, and vendor representatives

 

Vendor engagement

  • Establish solid relationships with Brand Managers and local Vendor representatives.
  • Attend in-person and virtual vendor product training sessions.

 

Internal training associated with competencies:

  • During the first week of your employment, you'll be presented with a meticulously crafted learning map designed to seamlessly guide you through your on-the-job training experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Matric
  • BSc in Computer Science or a relevant qualification.
  • Any certification in cybersecurity would be advantageous.

 Certification Requirements and Responsibilities for Junior Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineers

  • The employee commits to taking all necessary actions to complete and obtain the required certifications for this position as required by the employer.
  • Additionally, the employee agrees to pursue any additional certifications operationally required by the employer to remain relevant and compliant with the role requirements both presently and in the future.
  • The employee acknowledges responsibility for covering the costs of training courses and associated expenses should the employee fail to obtain certification after the initial attempt, and they agree to fund the second exam.
  • In the event that the cost of the course/exam exceeds R8,000, the employee agrees to reimburse the full expense if they leave employment within one year of course completion. Any such repayment will be deducted from the final salary payment.
  • The employee requested to inform HR and the line manager of any pending courses/examinations.
  • The employer will assist with enrollment to the extent reasonably practical upon the employee's request for assistance.
  • The employee commits to achieving certification by a reasonable deadline as stipulated by the employer.
  • Failure to comply with these terms may result in termination of employment due to non-compliance with the required certifications.
  • The employee understands the significance of non-compliance, as the required certifications are essential for performing the functions associated with the role.

 

Ability to meet Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Own reliable transport.

 

Office Requirements:

  • Office-based working environment.
  • Semi-formal dress code.
  • Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00.
  • Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal.
  • Reliable transport to and from the office.

  • This is a permanent position subject to a successful three-month probationary period.
  • You will be required to perform such duties as reasonably required by the business.
  • Your job description may be amended from time to time if it is valid and reasonable.
  • You will serve the Company or any Associated Entity in such capacity as management may reasonably require.
  • Duties must be performed faithfully, diligently, and to the best of your abilities.
