IT Network Administrator

Introduction

We are looking for a motivated and experienced IT Network Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in a medium to large-sized organisational environment and a proven ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and support a wide range of IT systems and technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer, support, and maintain Microsoft Server roles and services, including Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, Microsoft Exchange, and related infrastructure components.
  • Provide hardware support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for servers, workstations, and associated IT peripherals.
  • Install, configure, support, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and third-party software solutions.
  • Assist with database administration activities, including monitoring, maintenance, and routine operational tasks.
  • Provide escalation support to Tier 1 Support Technicians, assisting in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Support the IT Manager in the administration and maintenance of critical business and IT systems.
  • Assist in ensuring that server and workstation operating systems, security solutions, and software applications remain current through the deployment of patches, updates, and security enhancements.
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support when required, including desktop support, printer troubleshooting, user account administration, and end-user assistance.
  • Deliver telephony support and troubleshooting services to users across the organisation.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot managed network switches, including VLAN configuration, trunking, port management, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices.
  • Support and maintain MikroTik routing infrastructure, including routing configuration, NAT, firewall policies, VPN connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV and surveillance systems, including Hikvision cameras, NVRs, and associated networking components.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, change logs, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide on-site technical support and operational coverage in the absence of senior IT personnel.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based desktop environments, including Debian distributions on desktop computers and Raspberry Pi devices.
  • Perform routine Linux system administration tasks using the command line, including software installation, updates, package management, and system maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve Linux operating system and application-related issues to ensure system stability and user productivity.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Ideal Requirements for the Perfect Candidate

  • Solid understanding of Windows Server / Active Directory
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs)
  • Experience with MikroTik RouterOS / Firewalls
  • Experience with VPN fundamentals and technologies, including WireGuard, OpenVPN, etc
  • Basic understanding of routing concepts (static routes, NAT, basic firewall rules)
  • Experience with Wi-Fi deployment and troubleshooting - Unifi Software and Access Points
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues
  • Understanding of PoE-powered devices (cameras, Access Points and VoIP phones)
  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator or relevant position – 5 years minimum
  • Certification as IT / Network Technician (e.g. CompTIA A+ / N+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, MCDBA) or higher
  • Must have own reliable transport

Package & Remuneration
