CROP PRODUCTION & IRRIGATION MANAGER


JOB PURPOSE


We are seeking an experienced Crop Production and Irrigation Manager with a relevant degree in Agriculture and at least 5 years’ experience in crop production to oversee all aspects of crop production, irrigation and farm operations across a large-scale irrigated farming operation.

The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of forage crops, soil science, irrigation management and sustainable farming practices, together with proven leadership experience managing diverse teams and large-scale agricultural operations.

The role requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can optimise crop yields and quality while managing resources, budgets, compliance and operational efficiency.

A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant degree in Agriculture
  •  5 years’ + experience in crop production
  • Strong knowledge of forage crops, soil science and sustainable farming practices
  • Proven experience managing large-scale agricultural operations
  • Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams, including section managers and foremen
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation management and water resource utilisation
  • Experience with agricultural compliance, audits and environmental requirements
  • Strong financial and budget management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s licence – essential
