House keeper and cleaning

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Housekeeper and Cleaning role based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
Daily tasks include emptying trash and recycling bins, replenishing supplies, and ensuring that cleaning equipment is properly used, stored, and maintained. The role also involves reporting any maintenance or safety issues, following health and safety protocols, and adhering to established cleaning schedules and checklists. The housekeeper will work closely with supervisors and team members to support a clean, orderly, and safe environment for everyone using the facilities.
Qualifications
- Experience in housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or a similar role, with knowledge of basic cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules, checklists, and standard operating procedures while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Strong reliability and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks safely.
- Good communication skills to interact respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and building occupants.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or public holidays as required.
- Previous experience in hospitality, healthcare, or corporate facility cleaning is an advantage but not mandatory.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered.
