[Hiring] Online Chat Support Agent @Remote Recruitment

Role Description

Our UK-based client is hiring a full-time, remote Online Chat Support Agent based in South Africa. You will handle live chat conversations with customers - fast, accurate and human - keeping response times sharp and satisfaction scores sharper. This is a long-term role on UK business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle multiple live chat conversations simultaneously with speed and care
  • Answer product, account and order questions accurately using the knowledge base
  • Troubleshoot common issues and escalate complex cases with full context
  • Keep response and resolution times within agreed targets
  • Log conversations, tag themes and flag recurring problems
  • Contribute fixes and improvements to saved replies and help articles
  • Protect customer data and follow security procedures at all times

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day

Your shift starts by scanning the queue and any handovers from earlier shifts. Then you are live: greeting customers, resolving questions in clean plain English, and juggling concurrent chats without letting any of them feel ignored. Between peaks you will tidy transcripts, refine saved replies, and feed patterns back to the team. You will finish each shift with an empty queue and metrics you are happy to sign your name to.

This suits a South African professional who types fast and thinks faster, writes flawless friendly English, and stays composed when the queue spikes. Multitasking is not a buzzword to you; it is your home ground.

If you are based in South Africa with excellent written English and live chat or customer service experience, this is a stable remote role with a UK employer that measures what matters. Apply today.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience in live chat, customer service or written support

  • Calm multitasker who keeps quality high across concurrent conversations
  • Dependable to UK business hours with disciplined handovers
