Netcare invites you to be part of our journey.The General Nurse will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients in accordance with the nursing process, standards of practice, policies and procedures. Also assist with admission, discharge, transfer and record keeping processes as well as maintain patient files.Duties Provide general nursing care to patients within the Emergency Department according to hospital policy, procedure and relevant legislation.Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and timeously.Maintain cleanliness of equipment and patient areas at all times.Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers of patients in a timely manner.Assist with triage and registration of patients in the ED.  Adhere to the principles of infection control and handle all clinical waste according to hospital policy.Attend to call bells promptly and efficiently. Communicate effectively with patients, families and other staff membersParticipate in the handover process on shifts.Qualifications & ExperienceEnrolled in or passed out of Basic General Nursing Qualification.Registration with SANC as a General Nurse.Previous experience in a hospital environment would be advantageous.Must have good communication skills.Ability to work under pressure.Excellent interpersonal skills.Compassionate nature.WORKING CONDITIONSProfessional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business operations, including weekend, public holiday, and night duty shifts.Will interact with internal and external customers through several different means.NETCARE VALUES AND BEHAVIOURSNetcare ValuesAt Netcare, our core value is care.
