Leading healthcare facility in Johannesburg CBD is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our patient care team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities including bathing, feeding, dressing and mobility support
- Take and accurately record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiratory rate
- Maintain patient hygiene and comfort through bed making, positioning and personal care assistance
- Support registered nurses with basic medical procedures and medication administration under supervision
- Transport patients safely between departments using wheelchairs and stretchers
- Clean and sanitize ward areas, equipment and patient rooms according to infection control protocols
- Document patient observations and immediately report any changes in condition to nursing staff
Requirements:
- Completed Nursing Auxiliary certificate from SANC-accredited training institution
- Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Nursing Auxiliary
- Valid South African ID document and clean criminal record check
- Strong communication skills in English and at least one local language
- Physical fitness to handle lifting, standing for long periods and 12-hour shifts
- Basic understanding of infection control and patient safety procedures
