Fuel Tanker Driver
Introduction
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established transport and logistics company, for an experienced Fuel Tanker Driver based in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) or East London.This role requires an experienced professional with extensive fuel tanker experience, proven refinery and petroleum depot loading knowledge, and hands-on experience operating the Bartec Electronic Loading System. The successful candidate will undertake long-distance national trips while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely transport petroleum products in accordance with company procedures and legislative requirements.
- Operate the Bartec Electronic Loading System independently.
- Load petroleum products at refinery gantries and petroleum depots throughout South Africa.
- Conduct daily vehicle, tanker and equipment inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods legislation and all safety requirements.
- Complete loading, delivery and transport documentation accurately.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and refinery personnel.
- Operate a Side Tipper combination when operationally required.
- Report incidents, defects and safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment to the required standard.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Valid Code EC (Code 14) Driver's Licence.
- Valid PrDP.
- Dangerous Goods Certificate.
- Hazchem Certificate will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' Code 14 driving experience.
- Minimum 3 years' fuel tanker driving experience.
- Proven hands-on Bartec Electronic Loading System experience (essential).
- Proven refinery gantry loading experience.
- Proven petroleum depot loading experience.
- Experience transporting petroleum products nationally.
- Experience operating multi-compartment fuel tankers.
- Side Tipper driving experience will be advantageous.
- Must currently reside in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) or East London.
