About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and versatile Freelance Makeup Artist to join their team for various event and editorial projects based in and around Soweto, Gauteng . This contractor role requires a highly skilled artist capable of executing diverse makeup looks for a range of clients, from bridal and special events to fashion shoots and editorial content. You will work closely with clients, photographers, stylists, and event planners to bring creative visions to life, ensuring high standards of artistry and professionalism on every project. The ideal candidate is adaptable, possesses a strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of styles, and thrives in dynamic, deadline-driven environments, contributing creativity and technical expertise to each unique assignment, building a strong reputation through successful project collaborations.

Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional makeup artistry for various events, including weddings, parties, and corporate functions. Collaborate with photographers and models to achieve specific looks for editorial photoshoots. Consult with clients to understand their preferences and design makeup looks that align with the event or theme. Ensure all makeup applications are flawless, long-lasting, and photograph well. Maintain a professional and hygienic kit, adhering to strict sanitation practices. Manage booking schedules and communicate effectively with the client and project team. Requirements Proven experience as a professional Makeup Artist with a strong portfolio demonstrating versatility. Proficiency in a wide array of makeup techniques for different skin types, tones, and ages. Experience with editorial, fashion, and event makeup application. Excellent understanding of color theory and facial structure. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various project locations within the Gauteng area.
