Our client is an independent, family owned UK Inbound Tour Operator that has been arranging bespoke B2B solutions across the UK and Ireland since 1988. They operate as a Business for Good to provide customers with unique travel and event experiences and personal service.

The Role: FIT Reservations & Inventory Assistant

This role exists to manage the availability desk and process FIT reservations for the business. The main focus areas include keeping client extranets updated, managing in-house allocation systems, and supporting the FIT team with bookings and data management. It contributes to the business by ensuring accurate information flow and resolving issues proactively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise basic experience in travel reservations for a hotel group or tour operator to manage availability.

  • Update client extranets with availability and manage the in-house allocation system.

  • Enter FIT bookings into reservation systems while handling cancellations and amendments.

  • Manage and maintain accurate information within client data files.

  • Support the FIT team and the availability desk.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking reasonable tasks requested by the company.

  • Assist the accounts department in pursuit of late payments if necessary.

About You
  • Advanced spoken and written English.

  • Basic experience in travel reservations for a hotel group or tour operator.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Good understanding of percentages and gross vs. net rates.

  • Strong telephone manner and liaison skills.

  • Self-motivated and dedicated with the ability to communicate across departments.

  • Understanding of the concept of allocation and Freesale (preferable).

  • Proficiency in Italian, French, or Spanish (a plus but not necessary).

  • Previous experience of making reservations for hotels (preferable but not necessary).
