Lead Finance in a Growing Healthcare Organisation


A well-established and expanding healthcare group based in the West Rand is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and partner closely with executive leadership.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially astute finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategic input with hands-on financial management. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance, strengthening controls, and supporting the organisation's continued growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage and oversee the full finance function.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Deliver management accounts and executive reporting packs within strict deadlines.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop financial models to support business growth and decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

Compliance, Governance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Manage the application of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
  • Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Oversee tax compliance, VAT submissions, and statutory reporting.

Operational Finance

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Drive finance process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with operational leaders on key strategic initiatives and projects.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • CA(SA) or CIMA qualification is essential.
  • Postgraduate finance qualification advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior finance management position.
  • Proven experience managing a full finance function.
  • Strong financial reporting and technical accounting background.
  • Practical experience with IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 is non-negotiable.
  • Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Experience managing external audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical services, or related industry exposure will be highly advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial reporting and analytical capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and South African taxation.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • ERP systems experience.
  • Strong controls, systems, and process improvement expertise.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset.
