Fashion Designer

LADUMA GROUP is a leading apparel design, development, and production company that partners with well-known fashion brands worldwide.

The Fashion Designer will create and develop apparel collections, from initial concept and sketching through to technical specifications and production-ready designs. Day-to-day tasks include researching trends, selecting fabrics and trims, preparing mood boards, detailed tech packs and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product development and production. The role also involves overseeing fittings, refining garment construction and silhouettes, and ensuring brand consistency across styles.

The Fashion

Designer will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to align design vision with quality, budget, and timeline requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, including concept development, sketching, and collection building.
  • Knowledge of Textiles, including fabric properties, trims, and material selection for various garment categories.
  • Experience with Embroidery and decorative detailing to enhance garment aesthetics and brand identity.
  • Hands-on Fitting experience, with ability to evaluate fit, balance, and construction and provide clear pattern and fit corrections.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD tools) and technical sketching.
  • Understanding of apparel production processes, garment construction, and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Relevant education in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
