The position involves transporting personnel and visitors, collecting guests, providing airport shuttle services, delivering documents and parcels, and assisting with other transportation requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to operate company vehicles safely and legally at all times. Regular vehicle checks, accurate completion of documentation and prompt reporting of vehicle-related issues will form part of the daily responsibilities. The position also requires flexibility, as the successful candidate may occasionally be required to work after normal working hours, during weekends or travel to regional offices when necessary. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving instructions from the immediate supervisor or manager regarding vehicles, passengers, documents, parcels and other transportation requirements. Duties will include inspecting lubricant levels and other basic vehicle requirements and reporting any deficiencies to the relevant supervisor. The driver will also be responsible for loading and offloading documents, equipment and other materials while following applicable safety procedures. The position requires the transportation of employees, visitors, materials and equipment to various locations as instructed. All transportation duties must be performed safely, efficiently and within the required timeframes. Accurate completion of internal documentation will also be required. This may include daily vehicle sheets, progress reports and other records relating to driving activities. Details of completed activities must be recorded correctly to support management reporting and operational requirements. The driver must ensure compliance with IDC systems, procedures and applicable workplace requirements. Safe and legal operation of assigned vehicles is a key responsibility, and all traffic laws and company policies must be followed. The successful candidate will be expected to provide safe and timely transportation for personnel, visitors and other authorised passengers. Professional conduct is required at all times because the driver may interact with employees, senior management, visitors, board members and other stakeholders. Confidentiality must be maintained when transporting personnel or handling documents and information. Any information encountered during the performance of duties must be treated appropriately and must not be disclosed without authorisation. The allocated vehicle must be kept clean, neat and in a suitable condition at all times. The driver must also ensure that the vehicle is used responsibly and that any concerns relating to its condition are reported promptly. The driver must ensure that the driver’s licence remains valid and is renewed as required by law. Any accidents or incidents involving the driver, company vehicles or other company assets must be reported promptly. Delays caused by vehicle breakdowns, adverse weather, traffic conditions, road incidents or other emergencies must be reported to the appropriate supervisor as soon as possible. Additional duties may include assisting the Fleet Supervisor with day-to-day fleet-related activities, supporting colleagues when required and helping with deliveries to regional offices. The successful candidate may also be required to perform basic administrative duties and participate in relevant workplace activities and training. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Applicants must meet the minimum requirements before applying for the position. The minimum educational requirement is Matric . Applicants must have between 2 and 5 years of driving experience in a corporate environment . Experience in a professional organisation or structured workplace environment will be important because the role involves transporting employees, visitors and senior stakeholders. A valid Code 08 driver’s licence is required. The licence must be unendorsed and non-restricted. Applicants must also be licensed to drive vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions .
