Dispensing Pharmacist
JOB SUMMARY AND KEY JOB RESULTS
The Dispensing Pharmacist is responsible for the proper and accurate dispensing and charging of specific drugs and pharmaceutical preparations prescribed by the physician.
Key job results include accurate drugs dispensed, accurate and timely charging.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Dispenses prescribed drugs.
2. Fills the prescriptions.
3. Records the drugs dispensed in the stock cards.
4. Issues corresponding charge slips.
5. Checks the manufacturing/expiry dates and labels of drugs.
6. Offers alternative drugs for non-formulary prescriptions to attending physician.
7. Prepares and dispenses supply requisition of drugs (SRS) for E-cart replacement for 8. 8. Receives and records delivery of stocks of emergency purchased formulary and non-formulary drugs.
9. Conducts physical inventory of drugs in their assigned areas and checks expiry dates.
10. Prepares monthly and annual reports, as assigned.
12. Keeps, maintains and files prescription prescribed by law.
13. Obtains accomplished Emergency Purchase (EP) requisition forms from attending physicians for prescribed medicines not included in the Hospital Formulary (for pay patients and with Philhealth only).
14. Performs other related functions as may be assigned by superior.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualification
- College Degree preferably a BS Pharmacy graduate
- Board passer/licensed
Experience
- At least 1 year experience in a hospital setting
