A well-established and reputable law firm specialising in conveyancing is seeking Junior and Senior Conveyancing Secretaries to join their dynamic team based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced conveyancing professionals who thrive in a fast-paced legal environment and can manage multiple property transfer files while delivering a high standard of administrative and client support.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support within the conveyancing department, primarily focusing on residential and commercial property transfers. You will act as a key liaison between attorneys, clients, estate agents, banks, and third parties while ensuring efficient file management and accurate processing of transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Managing conveyancing transfer files from instruction through to registration
- Handling high volumes of conveyancing matters simultaneously
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, banks, and third parties
- Preparing and processing conveyancing documentation
- Updating clients and stakeholders on transaction progress
- Maintaining accurate records and compliance with conveyancing procedures
- Providing administrative and secretarial support to conveyancers and attorneys
- Ensuring deadlines and registration timelines are met
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
Junior Conveyancing Secretary
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a conveyancing Developments transfers environment
- Ability to manage approximately 30 active files
Senior Conveyancing Secretary
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a conveyancing Developments transfers role
- Ability to manage 60+ active files
Requirements (Both Levels)
- Matric certificate (non-negotiable)
- South African citizen
- Experience working within a conveyancing law firm environment

Proficiency in the following systems (non-negotiable):
- GhostConvey
- Lexis Convey
- Stordoc
- E4 Training
- Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English (written and verbal)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
Advantageous
- Relevant legal or conveyancing qualification
