DC Process Manager- Inventory

<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>The DC Process Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all inbound operations to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective receipt of goods. They manage accuracy, enforce compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline workflows. Additionally, they analyse performance metrics, implement process improvements, and lead team development to drive operational excellence.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead and optimise inventory management processes to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy across the Distribution Centre.</li><li>Drive stock control initiatives through effective cycle counting, stock reconciliations, and variance investigations.</li><li>Maintain accurate inventory records by ensuring all stock movements are correctly processed and recorded within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).</li><li>Analyse inventory data and performance metrics to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.</li><li>Investigate and resolve stock variances through detailed root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.</li><li>Monitor and manage aged, slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged stock to minimise losses and improve inventory health.</li><li>Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, stock governance standards, and audit requirements.</li><li>Lead and support cycle count programmes, annual stock takes, and inventory audits to maintain inventory integrity.</li><li>Collaborate with Operations, Inbound, Outbound, Suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to improve inventory accuracy and stock availability.</li><li>Design and implement inventory process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce inventory-related risks.</li><li>Monitor key inventory KPIs including inventory accuracy, stock variance, cycle count completion, stock availability, shrinkage, and inventory turnover.</li><li>Drive initiatives focused on loss prevention, shrinkage reduction, and inventory optimisation.</li><li>Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and health and safety requirements.</li><li>Prepare and present inventory reports, audit findings, KPI scorecards, and continuous improvement recommendations to management.</li><li>Manage, coach, and develop team members to build capability, accountability, and a high-performance culture within the inventory function.</li><li>Support operational decision-making through accurate reporting, inventory analysis, and actionable insights. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Relevant Degree or Diploma </li><li>Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management will be advantageous.</li><li>Minimum 3 years Distribution Centre (DC) experience.</li><li>Minimum 1 year people management experience.</li><li>Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP, SAP EWM, Manhattan, JDA, Oracle, or SYSPRO<br><br></li></ul><strong>Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Inventory Management</li><li>Stock Control & Reconciliation</li><li>Cycle Counting</li><li>Inventory Accuracy Management</li><li>Stock Variance Analysis</li><li>Warehouse Operations</li><li>Distribution Centre Operations</li><li>Inventory Auditing & Compliance</li><li>Root Cause Analysis</li><li>Loss Prevention & Shrinkage Control</li><li>Stock Governance</li><li>Inventory Planning</li><li>Replenishment Management<br><br></li></ul><strong>Behaviours<br><br></strong><ul><li>Ensures Accountability - takes accountability and ensures others are held to account on agreed upon performance targets</li><li>Financial Acumen - understands and applies financial concepts and principles to make informed financial decisions </li><li>Manages Complexity - interprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problems</li><li>Optimizes Work Processes - assesses and improves the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of various work processes<br><br></li></ul><em><strong>Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act<br><br></strong></em><strong>About Us<br><br></strong>Who we are is because of our people.
